For those who haven’t heard of Targa Trophy, it’s a rallying experience which incorporates a lot of different variables for all skill levels. I must stress, that the point of this rallying experience is to have fun. It’s not a race, it’s just a rally for car enthusiasts who can enjoy and drive there cars on some of the most amazing roads Southern California as to offer. The Targa Trophy Experience #1 German Car Experience started out at the HRE Wheels headquarters down in Vista, CA. To ensure an optimal parking spot (not to be last) we had to wake at 6am and trek down to San Diego. After getting acquainted with other Targa Trophy Drivers/Navigators, getting some swag from DTA Posse (http://www.dtaposse.com/), and a couple of Tbolt energy drinks (http://www.tboltproducts.com/) we were ready for a exciting day of chaos and madness. From there, on after the 125 registered cars have assembled and everyones gotten acquainted. There’s a drivers briefing explaining todays event and format of driving. Once we’re out, we follow the custom route provided by Targa Trophy where we enjoy oceanside driving, enraptured canyon runs, and local landmarks meticulously and thoughtfully planned out. In this event, we have to stop at checkpoints where we take photos of anything from the Driver and Navigator driving a golf ball down range, to a moving photo of a local landmark. The rally was not without hitch though, Team Supreme (self appointed team name) did encounter a home owners association gone rogue in the country side that recked havoc over rally participants. We arrived at the Hard Rock in downtown San Diego ticket free. We shared our stories during the amazing route planned by Targa Trophy rally staff and enjoyed the raffle which included prizes from; TBOLT (Toyota Grand Prix Tickets & gift basket), Mothers (car wash and detail supplies), Lamborghini leather bag, Entry into Targa Trophy May 19 (Italian Car Festival), and numerous other raffle prizes from the Targa Trophy sponsors. We would like to thank Targa Trophy and its sponsors for another great event and look forward to attending the Italian Car Festival by Targa Trophy on May 19, 2012.
