Festival of Speed

admin April 9, 2014 Blog, Coverage No Comments
Festival of Speed 2014, the largest Porsche event in the South West.
The California Festival of Speed held at Autoclub Speedway is for everyone, and not just a Pcar owner.
One can Club Race, Run in Time Trials, buy stuff from the Swap meet, see the various Pcars in the Porsche Corral, and even drive one away at the Porsche For Sale Platz,
There’s also a Porsche Timeline Display, Vendor Rows, and Concourse,
Porsche was kind enough to have a Taste of Autocross with 2 brand new 911′s out there for enthusiasts to slalom around.
All 3 days, April 4-6, there were Parade Laps which allowed one to take their car on the Roval at safe speeds.
One may often feel that some Porsche owners are Purists who don’t believe in modding or changing their car; but PCA has done a very good job recently of trying to bring enthusiasts of all sorts in, from the “JDM” tuner crowd to the pure “Concourse de stock” classes together.Seeing the GT3 cup cars roar around the track was pure music to the ears; Race teams were hard at work on track setup and prep between heats. Pirelli even made a stop by bringing in 2 trailers and offering tire service to attendees. There were vendors from all throughout Socal including GMG and Bisimoto to name a few.

Saturday night offered a dinner with Grilled Chicken and a chance to eat with the Cup Car Drivers. Thanks PCA for hosting the event
