On Sunday Sept 7th Deus Ex Machina Cafe in Venice Beach on the border of Marina Del Rey held an event called Luftgekühlt, (air cooled in German).
It was a celebration of Porsche’s finest air-cooled cars. However there was a 500e, a couple of 997′s and 991′s in attendance glistening in the sunny, warm upper 80 degree sunshine.
Car’s ranged from classic concourse, to modified racetrack variants.
Notable attendee’s included the Singer 911, Magnus Walker and his Outlaw 911′s, a 993 GT2, and Mark Arcenal from Illest. Live screen prints of a 930 were being done on site; while a DJ spun house music and the grills were cooking up BBQ.
Quite a few 930′s were in the crowd, and it was nice to see most of the cars there weren’t garage queens but rather apex seekers, using them for what Dr. Ferdinand intended them to do.
Seems like the showroom Purist owners are slowly becoming more and more friendly to the lowered and modded Porsche crowd as there were a couple of 911′s sitting low, and a really clean 964 on BBS RG’s.
