Wekfest SF

What a long weekend it was in SF.  Wekfest is now over and now we can collect our thoughts on the show.

I myself have never been to wekfest in SF. But have attended the Long Beach show. We were told.. roll to the show before 10am. But with partying the night before that was not happening. We made our way to the show about 1ish. Pull up to the venue to see this line of kids standing in a park. Wtf is going one we thought?  The next part of our story is almost an hour spent looking for parking.  Are you kidding mee!!?! We were about give up until we found a spot somewhere in Oakland.(sarcasm) We Put on our hiking gear and walked to the venue. Mind you we parked in some neighborhood and did not know where the heck to go. 20 min later we made it!!  and behold  bout 3k peeps standing in a line. It almost felt like disneyland except there was no rides, no mickey, and no fireworks.

021

Thanks to our vendor friends we were able to bypass this.  But i hear some people were waiting in line for a good 3-4 hours?   We proceed into the show and its just crackinn. From Big abe in the front and Models posing away.

023

Two halls packed full of Cars, Models and Vendors. Outside vendors such as Rotiform brought out a Porsche slammed on BBS RS. And Auto Concepts Eneos GTR.

060 121

The stars of the show..  Jeri and Christine!!!  Also Carissa and Justene

The show was good, But the venue I believe has to change. The line of people waiting outside and the parking just isn’t worth it in my opinion. You spend so much time trying to get into the show then attend it.  So hopefully WEKFEST SF next year has a greater and better location. But i look forward for wekfest to grow and grow into something huge.  Thanks  Norcal for the love. til next time SF its been great!!

Evasive Open House

Checked out the Evasive Motorsports new facility in Sante fe springs.  Evasive held a private event for Industry Friends and Family. The new building is amazingly huge. It Houses 3 lifts and a alignment rack, With storage to spare. On display were many of the the cars Evasive has worked on. Such as their own Time attack Evo9, Lexus Gs track car, and other  customer vehicles. Food was on deck w street tacos. They even got the Buttermilk truck to come out to serve up the finest pancake desserts. Sounds provided by Dj Mia Guzman as well. The meet and greet held many industry heavy hitters such as RJ Devera to Dai Yoshihara. If there was one facility to ever visit Evasive is definitely  one to put on the map.

Hello James!
Introduced yourself and where can we see the car rollin?
Hi, this is James, unfortunately the car has been sold but hopefully the new owner will continue driving and showing the car.

mitta4-0489

Tell us a quick history of this car, from its transformation, modification and awards it took home.

After taking the car home, I got wheels and suspension for it within a couple months. The obsession of modding became too addicting and before you know it the car started winning trophies at car shows. The car has won Best Audi of the Year in 2008 and has taken home multiple individual awards at Hot Import Nights and many other car shows.

Are you done with the car or are there a few things you’d like to add on?
I sold the car because I was done with this project but the new owner has some plans of his own for the car. I’m excited to see how it turns out.

I remember judging your car at one of the HIN shows and as I was leaving you said we didn’t walkthrough your engine bay, but clearly we did do you remember that lol.
It was probably because you gave me a big zero as a score for the engine bay and I thought you may have overlooked my cool engine cover. I had to make sure you noticed it.

mitta4-0490

When you first heard of Models in the Trunk what did you think of it?
It’s a great concept! I hope to see it grow into mainstream media.

You moved to New York to study fashion right? How is that coming along?
I’m planning on moving back within the next few months.

Any future plans to building another project?
I’m going to stick with a practical car like a Prius. Then maybe a GTR as a fun car. We’ll see what happens.

Shoutouts? Hates? Sponsor Plug? Here’s your chance!
Shout outs to MITT, their staff and Michelle Sanchez for shooting with my car. Good luck with everything!

Do you have any nicknames that you go by? and if so explain why?

Yes!! All of my really good friends refer to me as “MI”.. it’s different, and I prefer that over any other nickname. Although, I have been nicknamed “ShellyMi”, “Shelly”, “MiMi” (I don’t know why, but I never liked that nickname haha), and then I’m also nicknamed “Becky”, “Bill”, “Lilo”.. haha, their all inside jokes between my cousins and I. =)

ms-0398

Where are u from originally and how does it different from where you are now?

Proudly born & raised on Kaua’i in Hawai’i =). California is extremely different, however, I still love Cali in a different way! Haha! On Kaua’i, everyone is very family oriented. Matter of fact, that’s why I call a handful of my friends as my “brothers” & “sisters” =). As for California, well, quite frankly, in my eyes, its the land of opportunity! There are so many places to go, things to see, experiences… there’s just such a high volume variety in this state, that a life out here is whatever you make of it!!

You seem to eat a lot weird stuff late night. what are some of your favorite foods?

Hahaha!! I do?! Well, I just love to eat in general!! Haha!! As for my favorites.. I LOVE dessert!! All of my good friends know that I love to order dessert first, or that sweets are my kryptonite. LOL!! But other than that, I do try to eat healthy too!! Seafood, fruits, and vegetables always make me happy too.

What made you get into modeling?

My mother actually suggested for me to enter a modeling competition from a flyer that we saw when we were shopping together. I was 15 and decided to enter just for the heck of it. Little did I know that they’d be calling me the following morning to let me know I was one of the selected few out of 30 to be offered to sign with an agency called Monarch-Talent. I signed with them for 2 years, then became a free-lance model after because there were less restrictions to what I was and was not allowed to do.

ms-0421

What is in the future for you? What can we see you doing soon?

I’d really like to pursue a singing career and invest into buying my own home, as well as opening my own business. I’m hoping to do all of this before I turn 30.

Where would be your most favorite place to travel? or have traveled?

I’ve always dreamt of going to New York. Mission accomplished two years ago. Hehe.. My next stop would be to go to Japan to see the cherry blossoms or go to Paris because I’ve always believed it to be such a romantic place to be at.

Do you work out?? got any tips?

YES!! I’ve got a naturally larger bottom portion, so I focus on that a lot! I do about a set of 20-30 mins each on an elliptical, treadmill, or thigh-machine (is that the name for it by the way?? LOL). Then I spend about 15-30 minutes of stretching (or dancing around in the dance room if its empty! LOL!!). Lastly, but my most favorite part, is sitting in the sauna!! I love to just sit there with my ipod on just listening to music & reflecting on whats important to me, what motivates me, and brainstorming ideas of things to do to better myself in general.

Do you rage what do you do for fun???

LMFAO!! Honest reactions: Good friends “You’re going out?! What?! You never go out!!”. Acquaintances “You’re not going out?! What?! WHY?!!! I thought you go out all of the time!!!!” HAHAHA.. truth be told, I prefer to be soaking in my bathtub listening to music, be buried under my blankets, eat home cooked meals, or be at the gym. Yet on the contrary, I do go out occasionally! Mainly for my friends birthdays, whenever I’m in Las Vegas, or for an event. Very seldom will you see me out “just because”.

ms-0216

Are you Single,Taken,? What do you look for in the perfect person??

I’m single & have been for about 3 years now. I can’t say that I’m looking for anyone perfect, it’s just really difficult to find a partner that values the same morals as myself WHILE having an honest mutual level of chemistry (mentally, emotionally, and yes, physically too). That instantaneous feeling of attraction between the two of us HAS to be there, first and foremost!! From there I could babble on and on with all of the details that I WANT in a man, however bottom line of it all…. He has to be down for me. It’s imperative for me to be assured that I’m investing my time and emotions into someone that’s there for me, as I am for him.

ms-0411

What is the craziest thing that you have ever done?

The craziest?! That’s super confidential!! HAHA!! I might possibly answer you in person, but not on record! =P

Do you have any special talents you’d like to share? What kind of hobbies do you have?

My hobby would actually be modeling itself. I enjoy doing it for the fun of it. I’m very comfortable with myself, sometimes I’m a little too comfortable for my conservative family, haha, but they love me anyways and still guide me towards whats right.

What did you think of the MiTT shoot? Did you have fun with us??

I only hope to do a lot more in the future with all of you!! The last shoot, I was actually feeling really sick, and my contacts kept irritating my eyes, so it was actually hard for me even “feel pretty”. Luckily, you’re all AWESOME and made me feel comfortable by simply joking around with me, making me laugh, and just over all having a good time, regardless!! So thank you!!!

What kind of music do are you into? what inspires you??

I love R&B so much that I could listen to it all day, everyday! However, I love old school classics by the Eagles, The Carpenters, The Bee Gees, anything with soul by Stevie Wonders or Frank Sinatra.. and then music by Beethoven, Mozart, Debussy, Faure always make me feel rejuvenated. Oh, and I can’t forget… Snow Patrol, The XX, and Parov Stelar are also just a few of my favorites as well!!

ms-0139

Got Any advice for young Models out there?

YES!! Ladies, please keep in mind that a photo is a photo that can last a life time! Be certain about what you want to achieve and don’t just do things for the spur of the moment. Also keep in mind that like any other industry out there, networking is essential but is nothing without your reputation!! Make SMART choices and balance that out with being humble while having fun!! You’d be surprise at the opportunities that can to your way with the right attitude & mentality! Same value pertains to anything else in life too ;)

Do you have any shout outs or anyone you would like to thank?

I LOVE MODELS IN THE TRUNK!! Thank you for all of your support!! I’m definitely happy to be one of the models that gets to work with you!! <3

The new 2013 Mercedes Benz SL

THE SCION FR-S BUILT TO DRIFT

It was only a matter of time. As the successor to the legendary AE86 – one of the cars that founded the sport of drifting – it was only right that a Scion FR-S would be on the 2012 Formula DRIFT grid.

This is the car that Ken Gushi will be using in this year’s FD series.

The turbocharged FR-S is a collaboration with GReddy and will feature parts developed by Cosworth, KW Suspension, Sparco and RAYS. Although few details were released during today’s press conference, it was confirmed that it will produce around 600hp.

My name is Krisana Yamapevan. I was born and raised in New York City. I’m a part time model and full time restaurant manager. I’ve been modeling in the automotive industry for approximately 3 years. Although I’ve attended so many car shows and have taken a million photos inside and outside of so many rides, I actually just renewed by driver’s permit this past Nov 2011. Tehehehe. Don’t get me wrong, I do actually want to learn and drive some super sexy fast cars soon.

I love dancing but who doesn’t? I get along with just about everyone. I consider myself a down to earth chick and I always tell it like it is. I’m a workaholic but when I have time to party, I party hard.

Shouts to my mom and all my supporters. YOU ROCK! I’m actually not too sure what you can expect to see me doing in the future but stay tuned on my facebook and twitter and I’ll keep you posted. ;) www.facebook.com/misskrisana www.twitter.com/misskrisana

Iwoke up at 8am and some how made it to roll in- still in time to set up. Crooks brought out a Live silk screen where people could make custom tees. *prepare to see this at future shows*.  The day was nice and warm and food trucks were lined up outside. The venue I liked alot! Its been awhile since i been to a good Outdoor show. The quality of cars at this event would probably be the best of year. Autocon i tip my hat hat to u.. Cheers

Do you have any nicknames that you go by? and if so explain why?
No I guess I’m not that cool haha.

Where are u from originally and how does it differ from where you now?
I am born and raised southern California girl. I really can’t imagine living anywhere else.

You were a Nos girl  how was that experience?
Working with Nos was one of the best experiences of my life. Every event was such a good time! I got to not only work with the best girls, but also met so many awesome people. I got to be part of strong team of people, and travel to different places, and was really opened up to a whole new world in the car industry. I’m sad to say that I won’t be returning next year but excited to see what’s next for me!

What made you get into modeling?
I don’t think I ever had some sort of revelation that I wanted to be a model. It was more  I’ve always been outgoing and wanting to be in front of a camera since I was a kid. As I got a little older I saw the girls in magazines and realized I wanted to be that girl.

what is in the future for you? What can we see you doing soon?
Right now, since I’m not returning with Nos, I’m working on getting signed with another company similar.  I also am still in the process of trying to find an agency to sign with. My goal is to eventually do more print than promotional work. As of right now I don’t have too much lined up besides some a few small shoots. Soooo if anyone wants to book me ;) !

mitt_ch_r7m4801

Where would be your most favorite place to travel? or have traveled?
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to do much traveling so far. I definitely would love to travel around especially if it was for work too. Some places I’d like to go would be New Zealand, Germany, Italy, and somewhere tropical but haven’t decided where yet.

mitt_ch_r7m4456

Do you work out?? got any tips?
I actually don’t, unless you consider going to the gym like once a month. Sometimes I get on week long kicks, usually after the VS fashion show, where I’ll go every day.

Do you rage what do you like to do for fun???
I make everything I do as fun as possible. I used to seriously rage, but I’ve been kind of over it lately since I work so much. Vegas is my second home though I went about 7 times this summer, and I already miss it. Now I work at a nightclub doing bottle service so I still get to be in the scene while making money.

Are you Single,Taken? what do you look for in the perfect person??
I am single right now, I haven’t had a full on “boyfriend” in about three years now after my ex of two years. My ideal man would be funny, outgoing, caring, ambitious, family oriented, spontaneous, affectionate, trustworthy, non-smoker, tall, tan, good teeth, and can hold a conversation with anyone. I’m about 99% sure he doesn’t exist, BUT that’s my dream man.

What is the craziest thing that you have ever done?
I feel like I’m pretty mellow actually. I don’t go around like streaking through football games or anything.. not that I haven’t thought about it.

What kinda of hobbies do you have?
Besides modeling I work two other jobs at least depends on what else is going on. I work at an elementary school Monday through Friday, and then at a nightclub. Outside of work I love going to either the beach, pool, lake any kind of sun and body of water with friends I’m there. I love playing volleyball whenever I get a chance to. Of course like any other girl my favorite thing in the world is shopping.

mitt_ch_r7m4679

What did you think of the MiTT shoot?  did you have fun with us??
My MiTT shoot was one of my most entertaining shoots so far.  From the second I met you guys I was laughing and having a good time. Viet is quite a character himself let alone all of you put together! I had such a great time, and am so stoked I got the chance to work with you <3

What kind of music are you into?
I know everyone says this, but I really do love all kinds of music. I don’t always listen to all kinds haha but music in general is part of my everyday life. If I’m anywhere that I can put on music you can bet it will be on, and it will be loud. If you turned on my iPod it will probably either be some kind of house music or some alternative rock band.

what inspires you??
What inspires me is seeing all the models that have started just where I have. Especially girls like Marisa Miller who aren’t 6’4” 100 lbs. Marisa is only an inch taller than me which gives me hope!!

Got Any advice for young Models out there?
If I could give models advice I would say never pay for work, never give up, and ALWAYS stay true to yourself.

Do you have any shout outs or anyone you would like to thank?

I would like to thank my parents who have been so supportive of me since I was young trying to follow my dream of being a model. My mom used to drive my ass all over for classes and auditions, and is always trying to help me improve myself. Both of my parents have been so awesome and loving, and I really don’t know where I’d be without them. Also to my amazing friends that have been so encouraging, and kept me motivated if I ever had doubts they’ve been there for me too.

Hot Import Nights “The Return”

Hot import nights is back!! For being on hiatus for over 2 years and it has returned. As i walked through the doors i noticed hmm… its quite different then the hin was. The hall wasnt huge and there wasnt any big name stage acts. But it is the first show. It had the flare of the HIN in 2001. Really dark alot of lights and well i just felt i went back into time. But things can only get better for HIN as they are trying to rebuild the name to what it once was. Lets see how the tour goes next year. But nuff of the yap on to the pictures! Model Lounge was on point and thanks to Manny he is bringing you into the HIN Model lounge in front view.  Enjoy!!

Like many kids growing up in LA, my parents started me in a talent agency. I successfully became a SAG actress with numerous commercials, but I realized acting wasn’t my first love. I’ve always been in love with dance! By the time I realized that dance was what I wanted to pursue, I was busy with honors and AP classes in high school and college so I no longer had time for dance.

mitt_moniquem__r7m3235

When I was 19, I saw gogo dancers for the first time at a club in Long Beach. From that moment on, I knew I HAD to be a gogo dancer. It was a great way to still continue my education and keep dance in my life. I hit up a few people and got my first gogo gig that week. I just love the rush of dancing in front of large crowds in a club atmosphere!

Through dancing at various venues, I met a lot of people in the car show and modeling industry, and next thing I knew, I was posing for photoshoots. I love it all but I still find it strange to be considered a “model.” I consider myself a dancer first who accidentally became a model haha!

After finishing my engineering degree, I worked as an engineer for 2 years. When the last company I worked for flopped, I decided I wanted a change. I wanted to still be able to enjoy my youth without having a 9-5 job. So I moved to Vegas of course! I am now a cocktail waitress at the #1 nightclub in Vegas, Marquee, and I love my job!! Come visit me at Marquee Nightclub every Friday, Saturday, & Monday nights! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Los Angeles Auto Show 2011

The LA autoshow is here. And well.. things look different this year. Smaller booths and lesser cars.  We need Ferrari and Lambo back dammit!!! But anyhow So looks like most of the manufactures were in the South hall. All bunched up w smaller booths. But besides my rant of booth size.. I would have to say the most interesting car i saw was the Fiat 500 Gucci. They went all out on the material on this car. Seatbelts, seats and emblems.. but its still a fiat so wont catch me dead in it. ahha but on ward to the pics!!!!!

Hello! My name is Dee Le…it’s actually “Diana,” but most people call me Dee. I’m 18 years old, and I’m from Glendora, CA. Right now I live in Irvine, CA because I am a full time student at UC Irvine. I’m majoring in pharmaceutical sciences; ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be in the medical field to help people. :) Other than being a student, I also dance and model on my free time.Dancing and modeling was something I always dreamed of doing; it’s crazy how I got into it! Here’s how it happened… I always loved house, electro, techno, etc. I went to my first EDM event in 2008- Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival. I went to enjoy great music, saw dancers on stage, and thought to myself, “Hey, one day I’m going to be that girl on stage with some of my favorite artists.”Dancing is truly a passion of mine; it’s the only thing that could make me really happy no matter what. So when I turned 18 in April, I started gogo dancing at clubs in LA, Hollywood, and OC. To build up my image and portfolio, I started doing photo shoots. At first I was shy and uncomfortable, but I quickly adapted; now I love to model! dee-11

As I was building my portfolio, I was asked to audition for Perish’s Hollywood Klowns, which is one of the groups that get to dance for Insomniac. My dreams came true after one audition (Love you Perish!); I got to dance with DJ’s like ATB, Skrillex, Kaskade, Wolfgang Gartner, Flux Pavilion. Dancing in front of thousands gives me an energy and feeling that I can’t even describe or compare.

Another hobby of mine, other than dancing and modeling, is working out. I enjoy going to the gym. I was actually a personal and group trainer at Bally Total Fitness not too long ago, but I’m currently taking a break to focus on school. In the near future, I hope to became a trainer again. I also hope to continue to dance for events and model more. It’s all so fun! :) In a few years, I will probably take a break from dancing and modeling because I see myself going to graduate school, and becoming a pharmacist….I will probably still be dancing when I’m older…maybe just behind my little pharmacy counter or something lol.

I was raised in a religious family, so high morals and values is something I hold close to my heart. Therefore- I would like to thank my parents, family, and friends for helping me build my character and for supporting me with all that I do. I would also like to thank JAG-Agency for helping me get to where I am today. . I am truly blessed with all the opportunities thrown at me… not to mention this feature, so I want to especially thank the guys from MiTT. I feel surprised yet very, very honored to be on the website with all the other amazing models. THANK YOU!!! xoxox :)

SEMA 2011

Sema has come and gone. We got to see what the Industry has done and what direction its going.  In the Scion challenge the 3 cars this year were the New IQ’s which are not out yet. The builders Tatsu, Evasive and John Sibal went at it. And at the end John Sibal came out w 1st.  with Evasive taking 2nd and then Tatsu.  Super crazy builds these 3 cars are. We also have the Debut of RWB at sema with Mark Arcenals  and Hoonigan Porsches.  I would have to say Marks pandora one was one of the Hot items at sema and my fave car. Alot of the vehicles this year seem to be going with Wraps. From Flats to Foil.  The 4 days we were at sema we did not get a chance to see everything. Need more time and energy!  To top it off at roll out at show end the skies in vegas decided to rain.  But our main focus was to document the best cars we could find. The HOTTEST MODELS and the young Industry people who make this style into what we our today.

Do you have any nicknames that you go by? And if so explain why?
A lot of close friends call me V or V.V. I’ve also gotten Phil because it’s somehow catchy to them. People who have known me forever used to know me by Nesza (pronounced ‘Nessa’), it was a cool nickname I picked up in middle school.

Where are you from originally and how does it differ from where you are now?
Well, I was born in the Philippines but I didn’t stay for long, I quickly came into the states. I grew up in Dallas most of my life.

So you are currently in Texas.. do you have a Tex accent and ride horses all day lol?
Haha, no I do not have a Texan accent. And not all Texans ride horses all day, however we sure do ride on something else … cool ass cars, I mean! ;)

What made you get into modeling?
I was discovered by local agency when I was seventeen. Even before then, I’ve always wanted to model since I was a child.

vanessaphil-7

Also what is in the future for you?
A future filled with happiness and success. I have a lot of dreams and goals, I’m just getting started!

What can we see you doing soon?
Besides modeling? I’d like to get into the business and be behind-the-scenes. I want to work with varieties of people. Which is partially why I want to get into public relations.

Where would be your most favorite place to travel? Or have travelled?
You know, hands down it has to be L.A. so far. I haven’t been to a lot of places, but that city mesmerized me in so many different ways!

vanessaphil-10

Do you work out?? Got any tips?
Haha, I try to. At most is three times a week. My tips are drink tons of cold water, eat your fruits and veggies, and stay away from soda! Soda is so bad for you, I had to force myself to stay away from it a year ago. It was difficult at first but I feel so much better!

How is the Texas Party life? Do you rage???
I’ve stopped appearing around the nightlife for a long time now, but we do get it poppin’! They don’t call us the Dirty South for no reason ;)

vanessaphil-9

Are you Single? Taken? What do you look for in him or her??
I am currently single. Aside from having good hygiene (who doesn’t want that?), I also look for a person who is honest, driven, sincere, genuine, and open-minded. There are tons of traits I have in mind, but I don’t want to bore you with my book of lists :P

What kinda of hobbies do you have?
When it comes to hobbies, I really don’t have any because I like to do different things all the time.

What did you think of the MiTT shoot? You did get hurt on set hahah
Ugh, I can’t believe you guys didn’t call for an ambulance! At least Nurse Randy [Ly] was there to the rescue! Overall, I definitely enjoyed the shoot. It was so much fun! We had a lot of laughs.

What kind of music do you like besides country? hahah jk any fav music bands at the moment?
Hey, there isn’t anything wrong with a little Faith Hill or Carrie Underwood here and there! All kiddings aside, I enjoy all types of music though: rap, acoustic, classical, alternative, etc. At the moment, I’ve been in love with Drake!

vanessaphil-6

Got Any advice for young Models out there?
Don’t always assume good looks will get you further, let people see how amazing your personality is! Don’t ever stop trying, believing, and achieving. If this is what you want and see yourself doing, take control and make it happen.

Do you have any shout outs or anyone you would like to thank?
First and foremost, I would love to thank Prestigious Models! I’m grateful that I get to be a part of a group that is filled with beautiful and bright women. I’d like to give shout outs to my family and friends, the great teams and people I’ve met from the car scene, and last but not least … my fans! Thank you for continuing to support me and reaching for higher numbers on my fanpage. Tons of love!
